January 2014 - Der Greif

Dear Photographers,

We’re happy to announce Der Greif’s first exhibition. From March 27th until May 11th 2014 Der Greif has been invited by Dr. Thomas Elsen – director and curator of the Center for Contemporary Arts H2 and Gallery in the Höhmannhaus to exhibit in the aforementioned gallery.

You are all welcome to submit your photographic works in the same way as for our magazine. As usual we don’t provide a topic. Please submit only a maximum of two photographs. The exhibition is mainly covering the photography-part of the project, we’re just working on the concept concerning and integration of the literature-part.

The first part of the exhibition will cover the process of selecting and recombining photographs. This process – similar to our work on the magazine – will be displayed in a new context and illustrated via wall hangings. The exhibition is made open to the public for the purpose of stimulating interaction and criticism from participants, visitors and everyone who is interested.

It will be very exciting for all of us and we can’t wait to view your submissions! In brief we will provide further information about the project, its partners and the course of events. This will also be the point where we will inform you about our ideas of integrating the literature-part into the exhibition.

wir freuen uns, für 2014 die erste Ausstellung von Der Greif ankündigen zu dürfen! Dr. Thomas Elsen, Leiter des h2 Museum für Gegenwartskunst und der Neuen Galerie im Höhmannhaus in Augsburg hat uns eingeladen, vom 27. März bis 11. Mai in der Galerie auszustellen.

Ihr seid herzlich eingeladen, genau wie für eine Ausgabe des Magazins Arbeiten einzureichen. In diesem Fall beschränkt sich die Anzahl der möglichen Einreichung auf 2 Fotografien. Thematische Vorgabe gibt es wie immer keine. Die Ausstellung beschäftigt sich hauptsächlich mit Fotografie, wir arbeiten momentan am Konzept einer sinnvollen Eingliederung des Literatur-Parts in die Ausstellung.

Wir wollen im ersten Teil der Ausstellung den Prozess der Entwicklung hinter dem Magazin von Auswahl der Bilder, über deren Neukombination und schlussendlich einer auf den Galerie-Raum übertragenen freien Hängung von Bildern sichtbar und zugänglich machen. Gleichzeitig setzen wir uns der Interaktion und Kritik von Publikum, Interessenten und Teilnehmern aus, da die Türen der Galerie offen sein werden.

Es wird spannend und wir freuen uns jetzt schon auf Eure Einreichungen! Wir werden in Kürze genauere Informationen über das Projekt, Projekt-Partner und einen möglichen Ablauf geben. Dann werden wir euch auch mehr über die Integration des Literatur-Parts sagen können.

Finally it’s done! Our brand new Der Greif website is online! Apart from some major face lifts its content and structure was completely revised and -designed. Many things have happened since our relaunch in May 2012. Especially our online content – meant as the magazine’s enhancement – was further developed. In addition to the artist features we offer guest posts which provide new content on almost a daily basis. There was no way out, our old website had to be restructured. Now we have enough space to give credit to its huge mount of content, themes and diversity.

Et voilà!

The navigation was reduced to four major parts: Magazine, Artist-Feature, Submit, Shop.

At first you’ll land on the starting page which gives you a brief explanation of the four parts. Every single part has an own starting page which gives you information about its subitems.

Under »Magazine« you’ll find information about the content, concept, history, news, team, sponsors, press, partners and published artists.

In the »Artist Feature« item we joined all of the content which is constantly contributed by our weekly changing guest-artists: The series from which the published picture was taken from, information about the artist and his/her guest posts. If you click on the arrows on the left or right you can easily switch to the previous/next artist in a chronological order. From now on the blog is presented in a blog-roll style, but you can still surf the series as you used to and have a look at the index.

Under the »Submit« you’ll find all necessary information about how and when to submit your works. You’ll be leaded to an upload and registration form.

In our »Shop« you can by our magazines, subscribe, acquire special editions, buy our first book and many other great things in the near futures. Of course you can also take a look at our sold out magazines.

Es ist geschafft! Die brandneue, inhaltlich und optisch komplett überarbeitete und umstrukturierte Website von Der Greif ist online! Seit dem letzten Relaunch im Mai 2012 ist viel passiert, und gerade unser Online-Content als Erweiterung zum Magazin hat sich beständig weiterentwickelt, zu den Artist-Features sind Guest-Posts dazu gekommen und fast täglich tragen die gefeaturten Künstler dazu bei, dass neuer Inhalt entsteht. Wir hatten das Gefühl, die bisherige Seite würde dem Umfang und der Diversität der verschiedenen Themenbereiche nicht mehr gerecht werden und bedürfe einer neuen Struktur.

Et voilà!

Wir haben die Navigation auf ihre vier Kernbereiche beschränkt: Magazine, Artist-Feature, Submit, Shop

Ihr findet zunächst eine Startseite, die jeden einzelnen der vier Bereiche kurz erklärt. Jeder einzelne Bereich wiederum hat eine eigene Startseite, die die wichtigsten und aktuellsten Unterpunkte erklärt.

Unter »Magazin« findet ihr alles, was ihr bezüglich Inhalt, Konzept, Geschichte, Neuigkeiten, Team, Sponsoren, Presse, Partner und veröffentlichten Künstlern wissen wollt.

Unter »Artist-Feature« haben wir von nun an alles vereint, was von den wöchentlich gefaturten Künstlern kommt: Die Serie, aus der ein Einzelbild im Greif veröffentlicht wurde, eine Info zum Künstler, sowie dessen Guest-Posts. Ihr könnt, indem ihr auf die Pfeile links und rechts vom Inhalt klickt, zwischen den einzelnen Features chronologisch wählen. Außerdem gibt es von nun an einen Guest-Blog, in dem alle bisher gezeigten Guest-Posts im Blogroll gelesen werden können, ihr könnt aber immer noch wie bisher einfach die Serien durchsurfen, bzw. euch einen Index anzeigen lassen.

Unter »Submit« bekommt ihr Informationen bzgl der Einreichung Eurer Fotografien und Texte und gelangt zu unserem Upload-Portal, wo ihr Euch für die Einreichung registrieren könnt.

Unter »Shop« könnt ihr wie gewohnt das Magazin kaufen, ein Abo abschließen, verschiedene Sonderaktionen erstehen, unser erstes Buch kaufen, und in Zukunft auch noch weitere schöne Dinge. Außerdem könnt ihr einen Blick in nicht mehr erhältliche Ausgaben werfen.
