March 2014 - Der Greif

The German TV magazine Capriccio about culture and arts made this short documentary-video about Der Greif. Thanks to the nice guys from Capriccio, to Andreas Krieger and last but not least to the contributing photographers, we really appreciate it and hope you like the video!

Das TV magazine Capriccio des Bayerischen Rundfunks über Kultur und Kunst hat uns letzte Woche besucht und diesen Beitrag über Der Greif produziert. Vielen dank an die netten Leute von Capriccio, an Andreas Krieger und natürlich an die teilnehmenden Fotografen, ohne die das ganzen nicht möglich gewesen wäre!

We are happy to announce the first exhibition of Der Greif – “A Process”. The opening was last Friday at Neue Galerie im Höhmannhaus, Augsburg, the exhibition will be on view till May 18th open from Tuesday till Friday, 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. We are very much looking forward to seeing you there!

Over a two-month time frame the editors of DER GREIF transfer their different steps of artistic work – curation, de- and re-contextualization of submitted works – into real space. «A Process» questions photography in its digital form as distinct medium, its handling with the use of the Internet as well as photography’s haptic stimuli and common perception of authorship. Based on DER GREIF’s concept, »A Process« is using the World Wide Web’s participatory structure to connect participants, visitors and editors across national boundaries – made possible due to an online transmission of the entire exhibition. Andreas Bülhoff curates the literature-part of the exhibition.

Wir freuen uns, die erste Ausstellung von Der Greif – “Ein Prozess” in der Neuen Galerie im Höhmannhaus ankündigen zu dürfen! Am Freitag war Eröffnung, die Ausstellung wird bis 18. Mai Dienstags bis Sonntag von 10 – 17 Uhr geöffnet sein. Wir freuen uns über Euren Besuch!

Über einen Zeitraum von zwei Monaten übertragen die Herausgeber von Der Greif die verschiedenen Schritte ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit – Kuration, De- und Rekontextualisierung der eingereichten Arbeiten – in einen realen Raum. »Ein Prozess« stellt Fragen zum Umgang mit Fotografie im digitalen Zeitalter, des damit einhergehenden Mediums Internet, haptischen Reizen der Fotografie sowie gängiger Wahrnehmung von Autorenschaft. Die Ausstellung gibt somit spannende Anknüpfungspunkte und Diskussionsgrundlagen im Bereich der Edition und Kuration sowohl individueller als auch gemeinsamer fotografischer Projekte. Andreas Bülhoff kuratiert den Literatur-Teil der Ausstellung.
