»A Process · Ein Prozess« is an extension of the work performed during a 7 weeks time-frame at Neue Galerie im Höhmannhaus by Der Greif. It is conceived as a third exhibition-room next to the gallery and exhibiton-website, extending the visions on combinations that were created with the submited photographs and texts. It shows a condensed selection of photographic combinations and poetry, standing for itself and being enjoyable without having visited the exhibition.

It is up to the viewer to dig into the context of the exhibition. The exhibition-website, which is both documentary and exhibition-space, can be used to gather information about the contributing photographers and authors as well as newly created contexts of single photographs in the book.

»A Process ∙ Ein Prozess« beinhaltet brandneue Kombinationen von Fotografien und lyrischen Texten sowie Essays von Joerg Colberg, Dirk von Gehlen, Annekathrin Kohout, Andreas Langen und Dr. Thomas Elsen (sowohl auf deutsch als auch englisch) und fungiert unter anderem als Weiterführung und Erweiterung der ersten Ausstellung von Der Greif.

Über das Buch

»A Process · Ein Prozess« ist eine Erweiterung der sieben wöchigen Arbeit von Der Greif in der Neuen Galerie im Höhmannhaus. Das Buch eröffnet neben der Galerie und der Ausstellungs-Website einen dritten Raum, indem es neue Kombinationsmöglichkeiten und bereits eröffnete Gedankengerüste erweitert und weiterführt. Das Buch ist eine verdichtete Auswahl von Fotografien und lyrischen Texten, die sowohl im Kontext der Ausstellung als auch unabhängig davon erfahrbar ist.

Mit Hilfe der dokumentarischen Ausstellungs-Website wird dem/der BetrachterIn ermöglicht weiterführende Informationen über die beteiligten Künstler sowie Autoren zu erfahren, deren Arbeiten in neuen Zusammenhängen veröffentlicht sind.

Last Sunday, for the last time Der Greif opened the doors to the Neue Galerie in Höhmannhaus.

With this final blog Der Greif would like to take the occasion to thank everyone who was involved in the project. Thank you to all photographers who have submitted their work, thank you Dr. Thomas Elsen for his kind invitation and great support. Thank you to all visitors who came into the gallery and shared their interests and thoughts with us. Thank you also to all sponsors of the exhibition: Stadt Augsburg, Stadtsparkasse Augsburg, Art Collection and Museums of the City of Augsburg, Tecco – Living Paper, Lime Light and dümpel werbetechnik!

For the last two months we have been experimenting a lot. The fact that we have made our work open to the public right from the beginning is food for thought. Having worked in an open space and having been in a constant exchange with visitors to the gallery – who constantly faced unusual and changing exhibition situations – was extremely exciting. Transmitting this kind of work to a gallery space was on the one hand very exhausting but on the other hand very precious. With the work on the exhibition Der Greif made some major steps forward and evolved into something new, more tangible and haptic – both for us and its followers.

The intense time in the gallery led us to produce a brand new publication, containing numerous selected and refined combinations of photography and poetry as well as essays. Pre-order starts today!.

In addition to the publication, Der Greif finally offers six selected editions with combinations of photographs from 18 different photographers coming from 11 countries. These limited editions will be for sale in our online shop, starting tomorrow!

Vergangenen Sonntag öffnete Der Greif zum letzten Mal die Türen der Neuen Galerie im Höhmannhaus. Zeit, die letzten zwei Monate Revue passieren zu lassen.

Mit diesem Text möchten wir uns bei all jenen bedanken, die uns unterstützt haben, die Ausstellung zu dem zu machen, was sie war. Danke an alle Fotografen, die ihre Arbeiten eingereicht haben, danke an die beteiligten Autoren, danke an Dr. Thomas Elsen für seine Einladung und Unterstützung, danke an die Neue Galerie im Höhmannhaus, das Personal, danke an an alle Besucher die in die Galerie gekommen sind um ihr Interesse und ihre Gedanken mit uns zu teilen. Danke ganz besonders auch die Sponsoren der Ausstellung: Stadt Augsburg, Stadtsparkasse Augsburg, Kunstsammlung und Museen der Stadt Augsburg, Tecco – Living Paper, Lime Light und dümpel Werbetechnik!

In den letzten zwei Monaten haben wir sehr viel experimentiert. Die Tatsache, dass wir den Arbeitsprozess von Anfang an offengelegt und dokumentiert haben, hat uns einigen Anlass zur Reflektion geboten. Der Austausch mit den Galerie-Besuchern und deren Reaktion auf die ungewöhnliche und ständig wechselnde Ausstellungssituation war äußerst spannend. Diese Arbeit als Performance in einen physisch betretbaren Raum zu übertragen hat uns viel Kraft und Energie gekostet, die Arbeit an Der Greif und das Projekt aber gleichzeitig weiterentwickelt und greifbarer gemacht als es bisher für viele – uns selbst eingeschlossen – war.

Aus der Arbeit in der Galerie ist eine Buch-Publikation entstanden, die neben zahlreichen ausgewählten und weiterentwickelten Kombinationen aus Fotografie und Lyrik auch Essays beinhaltet. Die Publikation ist ab heute vorzubestellen.
Desweiteren werden ab morgen 6 ausgewählte Kombinationen, die während der Ausstellungszeit entstanden sind und an denen 18 Fotografen aus 11 Ländern mit ihren Fotografien beteiligt sind, in streng limitierten Editionen zum Verkauf angeboten. Wir freuen uns auf Euer Interesse und Feedback!
