Jocelyn Allen

Jocelyn Allen (b.1988 Birmingham, UK) is an artist who mainly works with photography, video and performance. ​She primarily uses herself within her personal work, whilst exploring the themes of representation, self-esteem, anxiety, hiding and revealing, and identity. Career highlights include exhibiting at the Guernsey Photography Festival (2011), representing the UK in the Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean (2011), being selected for FreshFaced+WildEyed 2015 at The Photographers’ Gallery in London, UK and exhibiting at the British Council in Delhi, India (2015). In 2017 she won Best Graduate Single Image in the British Journal of Photography’s Breakthrough Awards and worked on a commission about Punjabi women and girls in the Black Country, UK and the Punjab, India for Multistory and Creative Black Country (with support from the Nazar Foundation).
