Sara Lamens

Photographer

Born in Belgium and currently also living and working in Belgium. She studied International Politics in Gent (B) and Aix-en-Provence (F) and after a few years of living and working abroad in post-conflict regions in the Balkans and the Middle East, she decided to study Photography at LUCA school of Arts in Ghent (B) and Drawing. She challenges the analogue photography process in a very physical way, in and out of the darkroom, combining layers and drawing and ink printing. Her photography is often in response to her immediate surrounding, exploring the blurring lines between fiction, facts and emotions, between intimate and conceptual, between abstract and figurative. Recently she started to explore the possibilities of the combination of writing and the image, within an open narrative.
