Profile

Mattias Johansson

Photographer

Mattias Johansson combines photographic imagery with archival working with photography at the Halland Art Museum in the south of Sweden. In his photography he focuses on the place. It is important for him to provide a perspective on the many identities of the place and perspectives on the image of the place. Mattias nuances the existing image and raises other aspects. Often it is the environment close to home that is the subject of his photography. Understanding of the place affects how he photographs it, how he interprets the subject and what perspective he chooses to lift. He enjoys analogue photography and lives with a partner and two cats in a suburb of Halmstad.
