Federico Possati

Photographer

Federico Possati was born in Italy in 1988. In 2016 he obtained his BA from Columbia University with a major in Film and Media Studies. During the program he got close to the photography department for whom he started working as a TA and a darkroom monitor. Throughout those years, he has worked as a freelance photographer and filmmaker, working for artists, participating various independent productions and creating personal projects. In 2016 he completed his first short documentary, Paolo Pelosini, Death Is My Last Chance, which premiered in international film festivals, and self published his first photographic book, In The Mood For Love. He is now completing his second photographic book, Tiamtu, and his first short film, BIRDS!. Both will be released in 2019. He currently lives in New York City, where he works as a video editor and commercial photographer. Federico’s work draws inspiration from the ordinary, the lives of people surrounding him. He captures and steals moments of truth from the lives of others and edits them in new narratives, favoring a storytelling approach.
