The work “Fragmente“ is about photographing images and circulates around the process of image perception. In different constellations, I examine the question: how the perception of images can be changed and how it can be manipulated, because far more than the visual informations, our experiences and expectations, context and much more determine the interpretation of an image.
Photography is not only medium in the work, but is also used as material and subject at the same time. The camera is used to examine different reproduction techniques and their susceptibility to error. Instead of digital effects, I use analogue techniques: from photographic images, their reproductions and utensils of analogue photography, I create temporary fictive compositions. Unexposed photographic papers and other papers of different textures from my archive serve as a carrier for the motifs.
