Brian Van Lau

Brian Van Lau (b.1996, Honolulu, HI) is a freelance photographer on the road, available for assignments and currently based in Seattle, WA. In 2019 he was shortlisted for a Lucie Scholarship, and in 2021 he was a finalist for Photolucida’s Critical Mass, and shortlisted for the Open Doors Photo Prize the same year. In 2020, he was included in the Photographic Center Northwest for the 23rd Juried Exhibition curated by Kris Graves. Most recently, he was the winner of the Urbanautica Institute Awards 2021. His work is about searching for fictitious evidence. His work has been featured on Fotoroom, Nowhere Diary, Boooooooom, Transference, Der Greif, The Heavy Collective, Palm Studios, amongst many others.
