Standardization of age-related losses of function Ageing begins with the conception of each life. But the question of why one ages is answered only by a multiplicity of scientific theories about which there is no consensus. Thus, the ageing process has long been the subject of physiological, psychological, social and cultural research. In my work investigation and simulation form the basis of a vision of one's own ageing. Observation of specific processes shapes a construct of the phenomenon. The attempt is made to defuse and decelerate the supposedly negative concept of ageing. The bizarreness latent in the images indicates an ambivalence that inheres in every ageing process. The medium of photography is used here as a vision – and not as an inventory of present or past realities.
