Artist Blog
Every week an artist whose single image was published by Der Greif is given a platform in which to blog about contemporary photography.

Emily is a good friend of mine and someone who was a peer while I studied at Maryland Institute College of Art's photography program. We both butted heads with our department's professors often for using photography to make images more like painting than traditional photography. It is that desire to compose scenarios to photograph that I feel such a kinship with in her work. The starting point of what is being photographed dissolves into the image that is being created. The process of picture making is evident in her work and is a joy to experience as a viewer. A print of the last work in this group of images hangs proudly in my studio. Website and blog
