Manufacturing books is still a long, complicated process, despite advancements in technology made it less laborious to print books. I've recently thought about how we are often not keen on paying for a record, or a book. They can mean a lot to us and can accompany us for the rest of our lives. Even as objects, they are often beautiful, and a lot can be said about the pleasure that comes from owning those objects. We all know readers that smell the pages of a newly acquired book before reading it. We say that records and books are too expensive, although they usually cost more or less the same prize of an appetizer at the local bistro, and they can give us so many emotions. Maybe the near future will see a new phase where immaterial goods will be appreciated again, and will be given a new value. Another thought, about photography. These days we shoot a lot of pictures. But did we stop printing photographs?
