allery] »Silent places« is a document which is a study of industrial space transformation. The visual absence is determining the past but also gives a shape to what is contemporary. The building of Szombierki Cogeneration Power Plant is a place which is vanishing, but which emanates a remembrance – maybe only for a few but, what is more important, for each of them it is a different remembrance. These portraits present workers and pensioners of the power station building in Bytom. Taking the portraits of workers I asked them to move their thoughts to the days when they began working at the power station and have some kind of settlement of this place, that is very close to them.
