Kasia Bielska - It's now or Never
Sep 26, 2012
Working in a modeling agency, I have contacts with young girls for whom I am the first link on the road to the fashion industry. My photo sessions are their first encounter with a make-up artist, a hairdresser, a stylist and - of course - a photographer. These are just some of the impressions and observations that naturally led me to look more closely at this issue. It is in my company that these young girls are forced to give up their shame for the first time. It is also the moment when each of them must discover and learn to be someone completely different. New roles often make them assume the position of someone much older. They have no choice but to learn how to accept their new selves. This is how I become a witness, while also being the director behind such situations. I had not realized that in such a powerful industry with so much money behind it, I would have to deal mainly with children - as it is children that the industry bases on in most cases. Situations that previously appeared to be rare (contacts with underage models) eventually turned into a routine. With the "Let me call your mother" phrase becoming standard while negotiating a large contract, it is fact the parents who decides for their child - whether she will play the role of an adult in this giant business.

GLASS GIRL
Oct 03, 2012 - Kasia Bielska
mg class="alignnone size-full wp-image-10472" title="untitled" src="http://dergreif-online.de/www/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/rose.jpg" alt="" width="1370" height="1000" /> My last post is the first photo from my new project. It's a magic story of a Glass Girl. A story of a glass heart, glass love, bloody adolescence. Inspired by "The Rose and the Swine" by Anne Provoost.
AMBER ISABEL
Oct 02, 2012 - Kasia Bielska
"Isabel sees the use of beauty as a means to temporarily deny the chaos and incompleteness of daily reality. At first glance her mixed media images convery a sense of serenity, inviting the viewer in. Once inside the calmness appears unbearable to her struggling subjects. Power and manipulation are constant themes in Amber's work, and play a big role in her latest Unraveled (2o12), in which she explore this on a sexual level. Creating the added layer of pigments is a way for Isabel to focus. Hours and days are meditatively spent adding the thousands of dots, palpating her subconscious and giving form to the unspeakable."
