Every week an artist is featured whose single image was published by Der Greif. The Feature shows the image in the original context of the series.

“The title of the series comes from the names of two dark chocolates we discovered there, corse and noir. We were traveling around with the car and bicycles, swimming and diving, mostly sleeping and cooking outside. Enjoying the small things. Treating ourselves with chocolate.” Corse Noir explores captured moments in Corsica, France. The series was documented spontaneously during a month long road trip around the island of Corsica in the summer of 2012. It’s such a diverse piece of land in the middle of the sea, with all the rocks and sandy beaches, rivers and swamp, waterfalls and mountains. It really surprised me a lot. In a good way. Corse noir follows my other personal projects where I try to document, in a diary like form, my own explorations in photography but also in life in general. For some time now I have a feeling there has to be something different to come in my work. Doing the same thing over and over and calling it new does not satisfy. Conceptualizing, in my case, works only when the concept is clear enough from the very start of the project. My personal work is a mean of breaking away from all pre-thinking, planing, staging, even collaborating. Breaking away from all the other aspects of my work and finding new ways of expression.
