Michael Goldberg creates portraits that blur the line between documentary truth and staged photography. His use of artificial light takes candid portraits beyond the realm of traditional street photography, infusing what would otherwise appear to be commonplace subjects with added theatricality. As such, his work aims to create an alternative kind of photographic truth.
