Artist Feature

Every week an artist is featured whose single image was published by Der Greif. The Feature shows the image in the original context of the series.

I take pictures of orchestrated scenes that seem to marvel in their apparent chaos. I try to juggle photographic conventions. Coming from fashion photography I also try to add other genres of photography eg. Snap shots or documentary style as Weegee performed it, but I also have a keen interest in painting that I try to incorporate. Smuggling elements that are at first glance meaningless into vivid compositions I let the viewer interpret everything. There seems to be some kind of equilibrium of value developing between the object and the model by suppressing the identity of the model. The model becomes more of a form or an object and by taking the objects themselves out of their context they shed the ordinarity of their function. Surrealism is always near. This is work in progress.
