My practice has been born out of an attempt to return to, get a hold of, an indescribable loss that I have always felt. This attempt for me has always been a blind grasp. My father once described to me the experience of being a black immigrant in The United States of America as, coming into a movie halfway and no one will describe to you the plot. No matter how much you glean from where you pick up the film, you are always, slightly, a step behind. Unsure, uneasy, always running, trying to catch up.
