Profile

Andrea S. Neri

Photographer

Andrea S. Neri (born in 1976) graduated in modern literature from the University of Bologna and has since been investigating the relation between language and image: he defended a dissertation on the interaction between texts and representation in the work of Tiziano Sclavi. After a period of research in Spain, France, and Russia, he settled in Paris, where he started teaching at the University of Paris III, Sorbonne Nouvelle. Under a master’s programme financed by the European Union, he began working as a professional journalist, and since 2005 he has been working for the TV network Euronews. Throughout this time, he has never abandoned his photographic interest, working with the publishing house Petit Futé and with the Michael Roulier photographic studio, both based in Paris. He attended Guido Guidi's courses of photography at IUAV in Venice and furthering his exploration of documentary photography through the workshops taught by Guido Guidi, Cuny Janssen, and Gerry Johansson.
