Born in Costa Rica in 1986, studies Fine Arts at the University of Costa Rica, San José, Costa Rica from 2005-2012. Undertakes studies at the Kunsthochschule Weissensee, Berlin, under the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) from 2013-2015. Currently a PhD Candidate at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne, Australia. My research regards images as elements to construct memory and knowledge, and it is based on the collection of images from databases, printed photos, and digital resources. These images are then transformed and filtered digitally and manually to enhance and distort, to modify its meaning and agency. I am interested as well in making historical and memory wise connections and to create knowledge by their association with other images and events in time.
