Gioncarlo Valentine is a writer and photographer from Baltimore, Maryland, living and working in New York City. With his work, Gioncarlo attempts to reconcile with his own trauma, the trauma of being Black in America, and the under-representation of Black self-directed narrative in the visual and literary landscape. His work has been featured within Ebony, Harper’s Bazaar, Fader, Griots Republic, and Afropunk.
