Marta Soul

Marta Soul (Madrid, 1973) is a Spanish visual artist currently living in Sheffield (U.K). She produces visual reflections on the interactions between different cultural topics, like the aesthetics of identity (the appearance), the emotions and social behaviours. She has achieved a number of awards and art grants since 2003, like AENA Fundation (2011) Photography Award, Fotopress07 (2007) Grant and Best Foreign Photographer Award in Pingyao International Photography Festival (2008). Selected samples of her artwork are included in private collections located in USA and Spain, as well as public institutions and museums like Alcobendas Art Centre in Madrid, Hubei Museum in China, University of Cadiz, and La Caixa Foundation, between others. She is represented by Kopeikin Gallery (Los Angeles), Alberto Cornejo Gallery (Spain) and Black Eye Gallery (Sydney, Australia). Her work has been published in El Pais, La Repubblica, Times Magazine, Condé Nast Traveller, Harper’s Bazaar, Matador and Io Donna (between others).
