Yves Suter, Brunnen (SUI), *1983. Yves grew up in the Swiss Alps, studied photography in Germany and assisted eight years to artists from Europe and the USA. He nowadays works as an artist. Since being a teenager he has worked as photographer and traveled the world extensively from Europe, South & North America to Asia. Experiencing new cultures and documenting the lifestyle of people has been his motivation ever since. Driven by the weird, the odd and the chaotic he tries to combine the inputs of his everyday life into different series. His work is an artistic attempt to understand the scene or person he documents and to become part of it for a certain time frame to get an insiders view onto the demanded topic. To consequently work with his artistic look of photography even in commercial work he is assigned for is his speciality. As an artist he also has a tremendous interest in publications and books and as a consequence he publishes editions of his work on a regular basis in different variations, often through the art publisher Hakuin Verlag of whom he is a co-founder. Yves is based in Zurich (SUI), but spends a lot of time in Moscow (RUS) and Tokyo (JP). He also is a Young Member of NEAR - Swiss Association for contemporary photography.
