Alan J. Wilkinson, Manchester, born 1963, a Photographer, educator, activist and who exhibits widely, nationally. Over the past 30 years, my work has been solely about the exploration of the self and its history, whether that be place or the people who have played a key part in my ongoing narrative. My current work is exploring the notion of masculinity in the outlaw biker community and exploring the vulnerability within a culture which is viewed at the forefront of hyper masculinity. I am now looking to create a discussion around homosocial desire, physical connection to one another and the spaces which exude this masculine world. I continue to create work and live in West Yorkshire.
