Brenda Spielmann

Photographer

Brenda Spielmann, born in São Paulo, Brazil, immigrated to Canada where she attended the Image Photo Arts B.A. program at Ryerson University in Toronto. She is a professional photographer who has worked for editorial clients in Miami, São Paulo and Toronto, and has exhibited in group and solo shows in L.A., Colorado, Toronto, Berlin and Montreal. She has designed, implemented and taught “Light Writers”, a socially inclusive digital photography program, to children and youth of all abilities at Public Schools and paediatric hospitals in Canada and, has presented and led workshops in several conferences in the US. Brenda was the recipient of the Ontario and Toronto Arts Council grants. Presently Brenda is working on several projects under the THINK AGAIN PROJECT umbrella involving her own family, para-athletes and the disabled community. It is her goal to use photography as a visual medium to break down barriers and misconceptions about people with disabilities.
