Carl Bigmore

Photographer

Carl Bigmore grew up in the UK and graduated with a Masters in Documentary Photography from the London College of Communication. ​ Grounded in creating a sense of place his work explores the space between fact and fiction to capture an essence beyond the everyday. His approach to photography is infused with the influence of film and music where tone and atmosphere are just as integral as narrative. ​ As a photographer he has been published and exhibited internationally. His project 'Between Two Mysteries' was shortlisted for the European Publishers Award for Photography, Luma Rencontres Dummy Book Award and the Bar Tur Photobook Award. This year he was granted the Royal Photographic Society’s Environmental Bursary and was awarded the Magnum Photos Graduate Photographers Award for his series 'There It Is. Take It.' In 2017 he will also be contributing work to two photographic books: 'Unseen London' and 'A Place Both Wonderful and Strange'.
