Photographer

Carles Hidalgo (Spain, 1990) Photographer, Fiction Writer, based in The Netherlands. Merging photography, writing and personal experience, my work constructs autofictional narratives dealing with intimacy in minor gay-subcultures. Recurring motifs of my work are sexuality, a certain longing for identity, contradiction, discomfort and hope. Addressing these topics, my work claims the need to rethink the private realm. I hold a BA in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature (University of Barcelona) and another one in Photography (Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague).
