David Goldes

David Goldes is a visual artist whose practice (primarily photography but includes drawings, video and sculpture), is based on the examination of 19th century historical research into the nature of physical phenomena such as the nature of water, air pressure and electricity. Public collections housing his work include MOMA, Walker Art Center, Bibliotheque Nationale, the Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Yale University Art Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art. He is the recipient of fellowships from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, the Bush Foundation and the McKnight Foundation. Educated in the sciences and arts he received a MA from Harvard University in Molecular Genetics and and a MFA from SUNY Buffalo in Photography. His work is represented by Yossi Milo Gallery, New York.
