Donja Nasseri

Photographer

Donja Nasseri was born 1990 in Düsseldorf. She started using the small format camera in her family trips to Egypt in England, because her parents didn’t know how to use the camera properly. Currently she is interested in the human psyche and cultural anthropology. She expands topics of tradition and culture clash with audio files, photography, videos and the return of individual symbols within a work such as carpet pattern or blue Lapis Lazuli spheres and turns them into installative presentations. She studied art at the Art Academy Münster in Mariana Castillo Deball’s class and at the Art Academy Düsseldorf in Gregor Schneider's class. Donja Nasseri participated in many exhibitions for example at Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Gocart Gallery in Sweden, Dortmunder U, Kunstmuseum Solingen,KIT Düsseldorf, Guernsey photofestival or Kreuzberg Pavillon Berlin.
