Janie Julien-Fort

Janie Julien Fort is Born in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. She works in a darkroom. She is interested in the specificities of photosensitive material: traces, time, memory, erasure and disappearance are central to her artistic practice. Following studies in photography and education, she obtained a Master of Visual and Media Arts from UQAM. She has participated in several exhibitions and events throughout Canada and abroad, notably at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris; the KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin within the framework of the ARTE Video Night. Julien-Fort is also a recipient of the 2017 Montreal Emerging Photography Award.
