Jessica Bruah
Photographer
Jessica Bruah is an artist living in Jackson Heights, Queens. She has exhibited work both nationally and internationally, including shows at Catherine Edelman Gallery in Chicago, Photo-Eye Gallery in Santa Fe, and Photographic Center Northwest in Seattle. Originally from Crystal Lake, Illinois, Bruah received her BFA in Photography with a minor in Fiction Writing from Columbia College Chicago in 2004. After graduating from the School of Visual Arts with her MFA in Photography in 2009, she was awarded a Swing Space residency through the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council to create postcard installations on Governors Island. A summer residency with ACRE Projects soon followed, along with a chance to teach a workshop at Shih Chien University in Taipei. Her images were recently featured in Fraction Magazine’s 9th Anniversary series as well as F-Stop Magazine’s “Alternative Portraits” issue.
