Jessy Boon Cowler
Photographer
Jessy is a photographic artist and educator born and based in south London. Her work explores her concerns with the dislocations between the constructed and the natural worlds, and the intellectual and the physical. She uses both digital and analogue technologies as a metaphor for these polarities of the human condition and her work is a campaign to see ourselves as part of a greater whole.
She has exhibited at Peckham 24, the Cob Gallery, Candid Arts and the AOP galleries in London; Angel Row, Nottingham; in Buenos Aires and Bogota, and has curated and produced shows in St Giles Church Crypt, Camberwell and The Viking Gallery, Margate. Her work has been published by Der Greif, Photoworks, Aint-Bad, Uncertain States and Humble Arts Foundation amongst others. She has collaborated with NGOs in the UK and Latin America, facilitating participatory photography workshops as a means to educate and empower.
