Juergen Beck

Jürgen Beck lives and works in Zurich, Switzerland. He graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig, Germany (Meisterschüler, Prof. Christopher Muller, 2010). Beck was working as a studio assistant for Sharon Lockhart in Los Angeles (2010) and was teaching as a research fellow at the School of Art and Architecture at the University of Lucerne (2012-15). He was the artist in residence at Coast Time, USA (2017), a fellow at the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (IFA) (2017) and at Zurich’s studio program in Genova, Italy (2015-16). Most recently, his works were in exhibits at Ditch Projects (USA, 2017), the Kunsthalle Lucerne ("Escape Architecture", 2016), and at the Swiss Art Awards (Basel, 2017). His artist book "New Deal" was published in the winter of 2018. His current research project as an artist in residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, France, focuses on architecture, commerce, and fashion.
