Profile
Julia Gelezova
Photographer
Originally from Sakhalin, Russia, Julia has moved to Ireland in ’99 and has since been living, working and developing her practice in Dublin. She has a BA in Photographic Media and an MA in Arts Management and Cultural Policy.
Her main areas of focus are nature, its resilience and our relationship, identity and place within. She has an intuitive and cinematic approach to her work, with not necessarily a linear narrative, but rather working to establish a sense of place and an emotional and cognitive connection to a surrounding landscape.
She is currently working in arts administration and management for The PhotoIreland Foundation and conducting her photographic practice exploring the traditional and experimental notions of the medium, working with contemporary tools, reading and researching.
