Laura Ben Hayoun is born in 1984, in Valence (France). She lives and work in Paris. After studies in visual anthropology, she follows in a MA in Documentary film, and a MA in Photography and Contemporary art. Her work questions wanderings, borders and migration. Photography became a place of domesticated violence where she physically foothold, family histories are interpreted as echoes of History. The image is interrogated in its capacity of movement and instability. She is working on mixed medias, photography, video, textiles, drawings, installation. She made collective expositions ans solo exhibitions in London (Tate Modern, Source Spotlight), Paris (Festival Circulations, Rencontres du 10eme arrondissement, Mois de la photo), in Nice (Festival de la photographie méditerranéenne), and in Spain (Outono Fotografico).
