Maria Siorba, is a visual artist based in Athens, Greece, with an educational background in Communication, Graphic design and Fine Arts. Her journey with the medium of photography begun somewhere around 2014, during her studies in Athens School of Fine Arts. Through her practice, & its existential and psychological aspects, she reflects on how we communicate and gets inspired by the difficulties all humans encounter in expressing􏰀 themselves, especially under intense emotions such as love and fear. She also finds extremely interesting the subjective ways and filters through which each person sees and translates the world, the role that their personality, mental state, levels of empathy, emotion intelligence, cultural context play and how all these function under the use of the constantly-evolving, technological tools of communication.
