Maxime Michelet

Photographer

Born in 1994 in the South-West of France, Maxime Michelet is a self-taught film photographer. He chooses to approach documentary-worthy topics (such as family, masculinity, mobility or colonialism) via staged and fashion photography techniques. His hybrid practice relies on an accepting inclusion of all the sets' components : borrowed or found accessories, characters embodied by their real life's doppelgangers; adaptation to changing weather or light conditions. His work has been exhibited on several occasions in France and South Africa, and featured in national as well as international media. He has been selected to be one of Agence VU's mentorees in 2022.
