Nadia Marilena Roccato

Photographer

Born in 1986, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Graduated in contemporary dance from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2013. Currently studying at Fatamorgana the Danish School of Art Photography.

In my photographic practice I work with personal projects that touches on themes of loneliness, longing, femininity and identity. It comes from my own experience of feeling rootless and having a longing to belong. I am particularly interested in finding the vulnerability and understated beauty in this.

My approach to photography is highly influenced by my background as a dancer. I always seek some kind of movement or rhythm in my motives, and the body is often in focus. The results are aesthetic and sensuous photographs that have a performative and staged touch.

I recently self-published my first book Solo
