Ojaswa Thapliyal

Photographer

I am Ojaswa Thapliyal, a lens-based artist from New Delhi, India. I use the photographic medium as it allows me to re-engage with spaces and cultures in order to inspire dialogues around themes of beauty, memory and separation. Through my images, I hope to invite the viewer to participate in a conversation with my work and construct, with the visual's aid, their own narratives around ideas and themes that are of our collective concern. I am currently pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Documentary Photography from Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Communication (SACAC) in New Delhi, India under the mentorship of Bharat Choudhary and Chandan Gomes. In 2018, I was also a part of the Masterclass by Sumit Dayal at the Sangai Photo Festival in Imphal, Manipur. For the past 3 years I have been interning for various NGOs and newspapers as a documentary photographer and photojournalist before joining the documentary photography course at SACAC. Since 2019, I have been working on multiple personal projects which I hope to turn into books someday.
