Tami Aftab's photographic practice lies within intimate portraits, merging documentary and performance. Using the image to take a conceptual approach, she aims to question and deconstruct vulnerability, care & connectivity. The importance of the image is to highlight the relationship between the subject, the artist and the viewer themselves. Aftab's process aims to create a natural environment for the images to be taken, yet an underlying playful nature. Soon to graduate BA Photography at London College of Communication UAL, Aftab has received prizes including the Young Generation Photography Competition in 2015, Canon Visa Pour L’Image student program in 2018 and a feature with OffSpring PhotoMeet. Her work has been shown at Copeland Gallery, The Art Academy and London College of Communication. She has also been published in Port Magazine, Refinery29 and Notion.
