My very first impression of life is an image. At the age of three I witnessed a photography slide show in our living room and until today I can feel the astonishment that I had about this warm glowing cuboid on the dark wall. At the age of eleven I started photographing with a proper camera and continued doing this until now. Nevertheless I had to take a long way before finally focusing entirely on photography the way I am doing it since I started my studies of Documentary Photography at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. I am married to an art related scientist and I consider myself being an artist with scientific background. Not only because I spend several years with studies of Biology and Anthropology.
