Berlin-based photographer Torsten Schumann (\* 1975 in East Germany) takes photographs of situations and objects in urban spaces as found. His photographic work has been shown internationally in festivals and group shows including Circulation(s) Paris 2015, Royal Photographic Society London 2014, CONTEXT of the Filter Photo Festival Chicago 2015, C4FAP Fort Collins 2016, Kaunas Photo 2016, Head On Sydney 2017. He has been awarded the "Arte Laguna Prize" 2012, "Berliner Liste Award" 2014, the "OPUS Kulturmagazin Photo Prize" 2015 and the PDN Photo Annual 2017. Torsten Schumanns first photo book "More Cars, Clothes and Cabbages" was published by Peperoni Books in 2016. His monochrome photo book dummy was shortlisted at the Unseen Dummy Award 2016 and at the Kassel Dummy Award 2017. His work is included in the "Street Photography 2015" book by PDN, "Humble Cats: New Cats in Art Photography" by Yoffy Press and in international collections as the JPMorgan Chase Art Collection New York.
