Ugo Woatzi (he/they) is a queer visual artist based in Brussels. Through a personal and collective approach, he explores LGBTQIA+ identities and communities. Their research focuses on the performativity of queer bodies, the multiplicity of masculinities and queer utopias. Woatzi’s practice involves photography, sound, video, installation and is imagined as dreamlike, moving and collective spaces.Coming from a background in sociology as well as contemporary photography, he then graduated from the MA Visual Art at LUCA School of Arts Brussels in 2019. Their work has been presented at Bozar (BE), Fomu (BE), Cité des Arts La Réunion (FR), Antwerp art Weekend (BE), La Centrale (BE), Brussels Gallery Weekend (BE), Contretype (BE), Hazard Gallery (SA), FRAC La Réunion (FR), Breda Photo (NL), Camera Turin (IT).
