Profile

Valeria Scrilatti
Photographer
Born in Pesaro (Italy) in 1985, I studied Photography and Visual Arts at Florence Libera Accademia di Belle Arti. I took part in various exhibitions in Italy and abroad. My research focuses primarily on landscape, each project aims to investigate the relationship between territory and individual identity, from which inner stories of contemporary can surface. I worked on the issues of environmental sustainability, alternative lifestyles, zoological landscape and, recently, I documented social issues in the Balkans, resulting from the conflicts of the ’90s and still remained unresolved. My last ongoing project, Buried paradise, focuses on building speculation and massive anthropization on Mediterranean coasts. I currently live and work in Rome.
