Zak Dimitrov

Zak Dimitrov is a photographic artist interested in memory, nostalgia and the physicality of film. Currently undertaking an MA in Photography Arts at the University of Westminster, his most recent project traces back his former lovers in order to gain closure and understanding. He has previously explored the intersection between photography and painting when the photographic film is distressed as well as Eastern European people’s ways of representing the dead. Zak regularly engages in writing, both about his own work and other photographers’ practice for various art publications. He will be showing his MA project at Ambika P3 on Baker Street, London in July and will also take part in Unseen, Amsterdam in September presenting a book he is working on. Dimitrov gained a first class BA (Hons) in Photography at The Arts University Bournemouth.
